Teaching

Apple Computers and Connect ED

I had the opportunity to watch an interview by Robin Roberts on Good Morning America this morning.  She talked with Apple CEO, Tim Cook, regarding the partnership Apple has with Connect ED.

Connect ED is an educational initiative created in 2013.   According to whitehouse.gov “President Obama announced the ConnectED initiative, designed to enrich K-12 education for every student in America. ConnectED empowers teachers with the best technology and the training to make the most of it, and empowers students through individualized learning and rich, digital content”.

Tim Cook took Robin Roberts to a school in Harlem to show her firsthand how successful ConnectED has been.  Check the link below to learn more about the ways students are using technology as part of their learning in schools.

I especially liked how a teacher remarked that computers would not replace what teachers did.  In fact, educators appear to embrace the program because it provides more teaching tools and resources as well as gives students learning experiences that better prepare them for future job opportunities.

Be sure to read more about this initiative and how Connect ED can help all students.
